This blog is dedicated to documenting what it takes to build an institutional repository. The project is part of a Capstone Module, a group thesis as such, in the school of Information and Communication Studies in University College Dublin.

Each of the five members of the Capstone, Hanna Bush, Dermot O’Leary, Megan Guthrie, Ali Hayes-Brady and Samantha Lyons, individually contributed articles to this blog with one being posted monthly on average.

This is not intended to be an academic piece nor is it a step-by-step process on how to build an Institutional Repository. The purpose of this blog is to show the human side behind a project such as this; what it is to tackle something of this scope and how each individual dealt with the various aspects. It is much more personal than professional and our hope is you can see the individual behind the words, and the person behind the computer.
